Fortnite: The game that has taken the world by storm

MOORHEAD, MN, March 27, 2019 – In addition to watching some of the Midwest’s best collegiate esports teams battle it out live during the Rift of the North tournament, the public is invited to participate in a FREE, all-ages Fortnite Foray on April 5-6 at MSUM Nemzek Hall in Moorhead, MN.

Fortnite: Battle Royal is an extremely popular, free-to-play online game with nearly 250 million registered players worldwide. In fact, if Fortnite were a country, it would be the fifth largest in the world, behind Indonesia.

While there are different modes you can play, Fortnite: Battle Royale is the most popular, where 100 people drop into an ever-decreasing battle arena, and players must compete to be the sole survivor. The main distinction from others in the genre is the game’s construction elements, which can give advantages based on skill level and utilization.

While Fortnite gained popularity from children, it has evolved to become the next big thing for professional esports players.

Players who would like to participate in the upcoming Fortnite Foray should bring their own mobile device (such as tablet, phone, Nintendo Switch, etc.) to play Fortnite. The Fortnite Foray will run alongside the collegiate tournament both days, and will end when the collegiate championship game begins on Saturday so attendees can watch the championship game.

There will be many great prizes, and the first 100 registrants will receive a free Gravity Gaming esports jersey. RSVP today:

The Rift of the North and Fortnite Foray are sponsored by: Myriad Mobile, Bremer Bank, Choice Financial, Avalon Events Center, WEX Health, MSUM, Gravity Gaming by ByteSpeed, and the University of Jamestown.
